Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that all educational institutions in the province will be closed for public safety today (Wednesday) in response to India’s missile strikes on several locations inside Pakistan. She called the attack cowardly and said that it is part of her oath and belief to protect every inch of Pakistan’s soil, adding that the blood of innocent civilians spilt on Punjab’s soil will never be forgotten and that it is a debt the country must honour.
“Success, God willing, will be our destiny,” Maryam Nawaz said, concluding her message with the slogans “Nara-e-Takbeer, Allahu Akbar! Pakistan Zindabad!” The decision to close schools comes as a precautionary measure in the wake of India’s missile attacks on Kotli, Bahawalpur, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, and Muridke, which targeted mosques and civilian populations, resulting in at least 8 martyrs, including a child, and numerous injuries.
